Myofacial Release Therapy with Megan Bingman | State College, PA
Myofascial Release Therapy is a treatment technique that focuses on releasing the connective tissue, or fascia, throughout the body. Fascia is a web of connective tissue that forms the structure of the body. It surrounds every nerve, muscle, bone, and cell of our bodies. Fascia tightens as a response to inflammation, stress, trauma, surgeries, emotional stress, and/or poor posture over time. As this fascia tightens, it puts pressure on pain sensitive structures and creates imbalances in our bodies, preventing energy flow down to a cellular level. The goal of Myofascial Release Therapy is to release these fascial restrictions so that the body can return to pain-free, active movement.
