Parenting advice is priceless, and there’s always something to learn. During a recent radio interview with Andy Cohen, who's soon to become a dad himself, Connie Britton opened up about the best parenting tip she ever received. And guess who gave it to her? None other than Nicole Kidman! This advice wasn’t just helpful—it was life-changing for Connie, especially when it came to traveling with her son.

Nicole Kidman’s Genius Travel Tip

Connie Britton, the star of "Nashville," sat down with Andy Cohen on his SiriusXM show, where they discussed the ins and outs of parenting. As Andy eagerly awaited the arrival of his first child via surrogacy, Connie shared a piece of wisdom she learned from Nicole Kidman. "The best, best, best piece of advice that I ever got for traveling with a kid was from Nicole Kidman," Connie revealed. She explained that this advice came during her first year in Nashville, and Andy couldn't help but chime in with, "I’m listening." It was clear he was ready to take notes.

Traveling With Kids Made Easy

According to Connie, Nicole Kidman has travel parenting down to a science. "They have an iPad that they can only use—and Nicole’s pretty hardcore about technology with the kids," she explained. Nicole and her husband, Keith Urban, travel frequently with their daughters, Sunday, 10, and Faith, 8. The iPad rule is simple: it’s only allowed on the plane. This method not only keeps the kids entertained but also helps them associate the device with travel time, making it easier for parents to manage screen time overall.

Connie didn’t hesitate to give Nicole’s advice a try with her adopted son, Eyob. And guess what? It worked like a charm. "The only time he uses an iPad is [on the plane]," Connie shared. "He sits down in his seat. He’s like, 'Mom, can I look at my iPad?' I’m like, 'Yeah.'" Connie went on to explain how this strategy transformed her travel experience with Eyob. Instead of relying on medication to keep him calm, the iPad became their go-to solution. "We don’t speak the entire plane ride. Instead of giving him multiple doses of Benadryl, just do the iPad and then it goes back in his backpack when we land," she said. It’s a simple yet effective trick that every parent can appreciate.

    A Journey of Motherhood

Connie Britton has been raising her son, Eyob, as a single mom since adopting him from Ethiopia in 2011. Prior to becoming a mom, Connie was married to John Britton from 1991 until 1995. But it wasn’t her divorce that inspired her to adopt—it was something far more personal. "I lost my mom to breast cancer, and then I lost my father three years later. I thought, 'What am I waiting for?'" she admitted in a heartfelt interview with Good Housekeeping in April 2017, reflecting on the loss of her parents in 2005 and 2008.
